Dekel Bor is a 31 year-old artist who has taken the jazz world by storm for his highly original musical vision as a composer, guitarist and bandleader.
His long term collaboration with legendary music producer Robert Sadin - who’s well known for his celebrated Grammy-winning work with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Wynton Marsalis, Sting, Joni Mitchell and Gilberto Gil - has produced an album entitled Emuna and an EP Home.
Widely heralded by global press for his inspired performances, Dekel has performed all over the US and Europe with the elite of the international jazz world - legends Johhny Griffin and Reggie Workman, guitarists Pat Martino, Adam Rogers and Russell Malone, horn players Roy Hargrove and Donny McCasslin, bassists Neils-Henning, Orsted-Pedersen and Buster Williams, and drummers Adam Nussbaum, Billy Hart, Clarence Penn, Ari Hoenig, Dafnis Prieto and Gregory Hutchinson.
With an always-eager curiosity to experience music and art on all it’s possibilities, Dekel has collaborated with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, modern dance star David Parsons and rising-star choreographer Nelly Van-Bommell.
After relocating to New York in 2001 and forming his trio, Dekel has done weekly engagements at the world-renowned Smalls, as well as frequently performed at cutting-edge venues such as Birdland, The Blue Note, The Jazz Standard, Sweet Basil/Sweet Rhythm and The 55 Bar.
Since 2003 the trio has been touring across the US and Europe, performing at festivals, clubs and colleges, presenting an average of 150 concerts annually to critical acclaim.
Dekel and his trio are now preparing for a US and European CD release tour in 2011-2012 which will find them collaborating with some of the biggest names in the jazz world - stay tuned...
