DEKEL BOR

ABOUT

Dekel Bor has performed with jazz legends Johnny Griffin, Reggie Workman, Pat Martino, Jim Hall, Billy Hart, and modern jazz stars Roy Hargrove, Donny McCasslin, and Ari Hoeing.

Dekel has also collaborated with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, modern dance star David Parsons, and recorded for Alicia Keys.

An NYC resident since 2001 now based in Berlin, Dekel still performs annually in his hometown of Tel-Aviv, often collaborating with israeli music legends Korin Allal, Arik Sinai, Israel Gurion, Efrat Gosh, Dinin Aviv, Hemi Rodner, Eran Zur, Alon Eder, Daniel Solomon and others. With an ever-expanding interest in innovation, Dekel conducted improvised duets with German film icon Christian Berkel, legendary israeli author Meir Shalev & amazon’s best-selling author Dan Ariely. As such, Dekel gave TEDx talks in Hamburg and Tel-Aviv.

A life-long motorcycle lover and BMW Motorrad Brand Ambassador, Dekel suffered serious motorcycle accident in late 2015. Dekel broke his chest, pelvis, shoulders, hands and fingers. In addition, the dominant finger was cut and re-attacged. Bor went through a journey of contemplation and hard work in which he learned to walk and play again.

Today Bor is an ambassador for DeLonghi Coffee, sharing his coffee moments in the studio and favorite cafes on tour.

Dekel partnered with leading guitar brands Collings, Roland, Boss, Mesa Boogie and many others on the “Music Cares” campaign - giving free gear to young artists on a weekly basis.

In October 2019 Dekel joins his long-time friends & today’s genre-defining artists Snarky Puppy, Aaron Parks, Logan Richardson & Christian Scott with his Ropeadope Records debut, produced by his mentor, Grammy winning Robert Sadin (Sting, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter).
